boating information
brokerage – selling
When you bring your boat to us, we will help you to ensure that it is presented in the best possible way. We will go through the boat with you, discuss the features and prepare the sales details to show the boat at its best.
Once we have all the particulars in place we will pass on the details to our list of prospective buyers as well as putting it on our website and including it in adverts in the waterways press. We aim to do whatever it takes to help a sale go through as smoothly and promptly as is feasible.
As soon as a sale is agreed, we will progress it as quickly as possible. To safeguard your money, all payments are held in an independent client account. When the final handover is complete the money will be transferred to your account by direct bank transfer so you receive your cash as soon as possible.
Boats are normally kept on hard-standing at our marina. This makes it easier for a prospective purchaser to see the condition of the hull and significantly reduces the cost to them of having a survey done. We would also recommend that the hull is blacked and anodes checked, again much easier to do with the boat already out of the water. You are welcome to do the blacking yourself or we can arrange to have it done for you along with any other work needed. Clearly it helps to present the boat as well as possible.
When you first come to us we will agree an asking price with you and discuss what you might accept on offer, although you will not necessarily have to stick to this. We will make sure you are familiar with all costs and brokerage fees. You don’t want to discover any hidden extras and we want to ensure that you know exactly where you stand. Our office is open every day and we will keep you up-to-date on progress with your sale. To safeguard your property, all prospective buyers will be accompanied by our staff, who will take the opportunity to point out the features and benefits of your boat.
Our aim is to provide you with a personal service second-to-none. Contact us now for an informal discussion on how we can work with you to sell your boat.
